On the back of some good results, Brentwood were confident of getting a result against Colchester.
The game was tight from the off with both sides trading shots in at goal. Colchester thought they had the lead early on with a debatable short corner but it was soon ruled out after some lengthy protests. This spurred Brentwood on and after some neat play in the D found themselves 1-0 up.
Colchester rallied and pushed for the equaliser, getting it just before half-time after some dodgy passing on the right side by the home side.
The second half was much like the first, with both teams playing some flowing hockey. After a flurry of yellow cards for both teams Brentwood re-took the lead, and were seemingly going to hang on till the end of the game, but with 5 minutes Colchester capitalised on a another debatable short corner. 2-2 and the game seemed over.
However one last attack by Brentwood resulted in a short corner, which Rowan Hope smashed in for a win for Brentwood and to make him the clubs leading scorer after only half a season.
