Youth Section
Welcome to a new season!
For those new to the club, we have a thriving mini hockey section. Ages at mini hockey range from 5 to 13, both boys and girls. Sessions run from 10am to 12pm each Sunday at the Astroturf at Sawyers Hall College (Sawyers Hall Lane, CM15 9DA). This year we are starting on Sunday 11th September 2011 going through to May 2012. All abilities are welcome.
All children should bring the following: suitable sports clothing for the weather, trainers (or Astroturf shoes), shinpads and gumshield (if they have them) and a bottle of drink. We have a large selection of sticks for new starters to use, so it is not necessary to buy one immediately,
The emphasis at training is to make it an enjoyable experience for the children, so that they can have fun, get fit and make friends. They will at the same time be given instruction in all the basic skills required and the basics of team play and tactics. At Brentwood we offer:
• EHB accredited coaches
• Teams entered into the Alliance Mini Hockey League
• A pathway to representative hockey at Essex and East Regional levels (and beyond!)
Subscriptions this year are £56, which includes match fees and a shirt for new members.
We are once again entered into the Alliance Mini Hockey League. Dates are as follows
25th September 10am-2pm (Brentwood)
16th October 10am-2pm (Brentwood)
13th November (away at Maldon)
4th December (away at Redbridge)
22nd January (away at Southend/Thurrock)
5th February (away at Crostyx)

Update 10th June 2011
Congratulations to Jeff Woollatt on being presented with the "Jeff Klinskey Award" for most dedicated member of Brentwood HC for the 2010/11 season. Jeff's contribution to Brentwood HC cannot be measured. Thank you Jeff for all the hard work and time you have put in as Youth Chairman over the years as well as being a fully committed player and member of the club.
Congratulations to Ian Forbes on being elected as the new Youth Chairman at the club's AGM held on 1st June. Ian has been a long standing member of the Mens First Team since joining the club many years ago from Canterbury HC. Ian has been captain and coach of the team and saw success in the famous team which was promoted as Champions two seasons running to East Premier B between 1999 and 2001.
